Dear Blue Sky Singers, I've missed you! Hurrah nearly time to sing again, we start next week Thursday 9th September 7.30 pm - 9pm at St Marks. After all this time and the anxiety and the isolation and the removal of routine it's quite hard to get going again but just remember the fun and company and joy of singing together. All the health benefits, singing is so good for alleviating stress and anxiety and depression.... we all need it. I certainly do! I am very happy to say that Pauline, Alison, Ann and Madge are all still helping me with the teaching and Sandra is on the door . All the best Maggie
There will be 15 sessions, from Thursday 9th September through till Thursday 16th December .
The first perfomance will be at "Music in the City" on Saturday 2nd October between 12.15pm-1.15pm, at Holyrood Church.
New people may start from Thursday October 7th.
FEES
The weekly fees remain the same at £6 with a £4 fee if you are hard up. Preferably pay in one lump sum £90 or £60 but if that's a problem you can pay in 2 instalments ( or weekly if thats what you need) ( we have a policy of making sure no-one is prevented from singing with us because of lack of money so came and see me if you have a problem )
METHODS OF PAYMENT
Pay by ONLINE BANKING if possible ... just email me for bank details.
CHEQUES are also Ok Please have it written out in advance and dropped into the box provided/ Made payable to MA O'Connor
CASH can be dropped into a box but NO CHANGE will be given
VOLUNTEERS
We could do with a couple of people to help with "sanitising" please let me know if you can help with this. (We don't need tea people as its "bring your own refreshments" for now .)
We are making it safe as we can ( see risk assessment below, which you MUST read and agree to )
CHATTING AND REFRESHMENTS
Singing will not start till.7.45pm so you have time to catch up with people .
Then 30 minutes sing and another break to get fresh air and have any refreshments you've brought and more time to chat.
Then another 30 minutes singing.
Please dress warmly as there will be lots of ventilation.
MAKING IT EASY
There will be no new people joining until after October and we will be singing many favourite easy old songs, just enjoying finding our voices again.
We'll start with the "Can can", "We are singing with our heart and soul", "Te Aroha" and This is Home
From next week we will be learning a couple of easy new songs for Music in the City ("Harbour" by Anna Tabbush that Pauline is going to teach, will be added to the resources shortly).
COVID SAFETY REGISTERING You must register your presence with Sandra when you arrive so we have a record of who has been to each session. It is important because of Covid to have your contact details. I have your emails already but if you want to leave more details (phone number, health details or other issues that are relevant to your coming to the group, that you would like the teaching team to be aware of, I attach a form which you can fill in at home and either email it to me or put in an envelope and give to Sandra on the door. This info will be kept confidential )
